The UK has donated £1m ($1.5m) to South Africa to buy condoms in a bid to combat HIV and Aids, as the nation builds up to the football World Cup.South Africa says it needs one billion condoms this year, anticipating extra demand from foreign football fans.
This is more than double the number the government normally distributes, the health minister told the BBC.
More than five million people in South Africa have HIV - a higher number than in any other country.
