The 8 March is International Woman’s Day and A24media is lending its support to this important occasion by supporting UN Action’s Stop Rape Now campaign.
The global NGO is committed to raising awareness about the plight of woman in the Congo and around the world as rape is used as a weapon of war. An estimated 200 000 woman have been raped during the war in the Congo and so a number of high profile figures including actress and activist Charlize Theron have joined together to call for action.

The banner they will act under is : “200,000 women raped during war in the Congo – 200,000 people say never again”. Through an innovative viral video they are encouraging people to join the campaign by adding their own crossed-arm image to a global photo map on the website, signing an online petition, sending a letter to their elected officials and disseminating information through social networking sites. The aim is to put policy-makers on notice that the world is watching. Inaction is not an option.
A24 media would like to encourage all its readers, visitors and supporters to visit the website at www.stoprapenow.org and take the first step in righting these terrible wrongs.
